Back From the Dead Guitars

Used / Restored Guitar Return Policy

All guitars sold by Back From the Dead Guitars are used, restored, repaired, upgraded, modified, or vintage-style instruments unless specifically stated otherwise.

Because these instruments are not new factory-stock items, normal signs of age, prior use, repaired wear, finish checking, small cosmetic marks, setup variation, and documented restoration work may be present. Any known repairs, modifications, cosmetic wear, replaced parts, or functional concerns will be disclosed in the listing description and shown in the listing photos whenever possible.

The goal of this policy is simple:

The buyer should receive the guitar as described — but a used or restored guitar should not be treated as a free trial rental.

72-Hour Inspection Period

The buyer has 72 hours from confirmed delivery to inspect the guitar and report any issue that is materially different from the listing description or photos.

A return may be approved if the guitar arrives:

• damaged in shipping,

• materially not as described,

• missing a listed part, case, gig bag, or accessory,

• or with an undisclosed functional issue that affects normal use.

The buyer must contact Back From the Dead Guitars within the 72-hour inspection period and provide clear photos, video, or written details showing the issue.

After the 72-hour inspection period has passed, the sale is considered final unless otherwise required by law or platform policy.

Buyer’s Remorse / Preference Returns

Because these are used, restored, and individually prepared instruments, returns are not accepted for buyer’s remorse or preference-based reasons, including but not limited to:

• change of mind,

• neck feel,

• guitar weight,

• tone preference,

• pickup preference,

• action or setup preference,

• string gauge preference,

• minor setup changes needed after shipping,

• cosmetic details that were shown or described in the listing.

Used guitars naturally vary from one instrument to another. Minor tuning, intonation, truss rod, bridge, tremolo, pickup-height, or action adjustments after shipping are considered normal and are not considered defects.

Approved Returns

All returns must be approved by Back From the Dead Guitars before the guitar is shipped back.

If a return is approved, the guitar must be returned:

• in the same condition it was received,

• with all included parts, accessories, case, gig bag, paperwork, and packaging materials when applicable,

• safely packed for return shipping,

• shipped with tracking,

• and insured for the full purchase price.

Refunds are issued only after the returned guitar has been received and inspected.

Issuing a return label or approving a return shipment does not guarantee a full refund until the guitar is received back and confirmed to be in the same condition as when it was delivered.

Return Shipping Costs

If the return is due to an error by Back From the Dead Guitars, undisclosed damage, or a materially inaccurate listing, Back From the Dead Guitars will cover reasonable return shipping costs.

For any approved buyer-paid return or preference-based exception, the buyer is responsible for:

• return shipping,

• shipping insurance,

• safe packaging,

• and any original outbound shipping cost that was included in or added to the purchase price.

Original shipping costs are not refundable unless the return is caused by a Back From the Dead Guitars listing error or another issue that is the seller’s responsibility.

Company-Rate Return Shipping Label Option

For approved buyer-paid returns, Back From the Dead Guitars may offer the buyer a return shipping label through our company shipping account when available.

Before issuing the label, we will provide the buyer with the return shipping cost, including required insurance. The buyer may compare that cost with shipping options available to them through FedEx, UPS, USPS, or another approved carrier.

If the buyer approves the quoted return shipping cost, Back From the Dead Guitars will email a digital/printable return label to the buyer. The cost of that return label, including insurance, will be deducted from the final refund after the guitar is received and inspected.

This option is provided as a convenience to help the buyer access a fair return shipping rate and to help ensure the instrument is properly tracked and insured.

The buyer is not required to use the Back From the Dead Guitars return label unless it is specifically required for a shipping damage claim, carrier process, insurance process, or platform return requirement.

If the buyer chooses to purchase their own return shipping, the package must be shipped with tracking, full insurance for the purchase price, and adequate protective packaging. The buyer remains responsible for loss, damage, denied insurance claims, or insufficient insurance on return shipments arranged independently.

Condition Deductions

If the guitar is returned with new damage, missing parts, swapped parts, altered electronics, altered hardware, smoke odor, moisture exposure, excessive wear, poor packaging damage, or any condition change that occurred after delivery, the refund may be reduced to cover the loss in value, repair cost, missing parts, or claim loss.

Examples of condition deductions may include:

• scratches, dents, cracks, or finish damage not present at delivery,

• removed or swapped pickups, tuners, knobs, switches, pots, bridges, screws, or electronics,

• missing case, gig bag, tremolo arm, strap, paperwork, or listed accessories,

• damaged packaging that causes return shipping damage,

• signs of gig use, abuse, or modification after delivery.

Shipping Damage

If the guitar arrives damaged in shipping, the buyer must contact Back From the Dead Guitars within the 72-hour inspection period and keep all original packaging, boxes, padding, labels, and shipping materials.

Photos of the box, packaging, label, damaged area, and full guitar may be required for a carrier or insurance claim.

Do not discard packaging until the issue is resolved.

Final Sale Items

Some items may be marked Final Sale, Project Guitar, Parts Guitar, As-Is, or Repair Needed.

These items are not returnable for issues that were disclosed in the listing. A return may still be considered if the item is materially different from the description or if required by the selling platform’s rules.
